Republic Day celebrations planned at Indian mission

DAMMAM: The 63rd Republic Day of India will be celebrated at Indian Embassy in Riyadh, Consulate General of India, Jeddah, and all Indian international schools on Thursday.
The International Indian School in Dammam (IISD) will celebrate the day at the Boys Section in Al-Raka district.
IISD Chairman John Thomas will be the chief guest. At 8 a.m. he will unfurl the Indian flag. School Principal E.K. Mohammed Shaffe will read out the Indian presidentâs message.
âThe flag-hoisting will be followed by a variety of colorful cultural events presented by the schoolchildren,â said the schoolâs press release. âMore than 900 students will take part in the displays and drills depicting the heritage and culture of India.â The school has invited all members of the Indian expatriate community in the Eastern Province to attend the celebrations.
In Jeddah, a function will be held at the International Indian School, boys section, to mark the occasion. Consul General Faiz Ahmad Kidwai will the chief guest.
A large number of students will take part in a variety of cultural programs organized to celebrate the day.
